Dropbox Community is a place for Dropbox users to come together to get support, ask questions and suggest improvements to Dropbox products. I worked collaboratively with UX researchers and Dropbox to redesign their Community. We validated and iterated designs via user testing methods. Other outputs included the organisation and creation of a design library of components in Sketch.
After the initial workshop we began the project by running a benchmark user testing session with 6 participants. This helped us to get a good understanding of how the current Community site was performing with real users as well as testing one or two assumptions we had about the usability of the current site. After spending some time to understand the results of the user testing sessions I helped forumlate a strategic approach to the design of the new pages. Taking in understanding about the stategic aims of the Dropbox Community team as well as the benchmark testing helped to formulate a rationale behind the designs and our aims for the project.
Using an existing pattern library as well as a series of new components that we wanted to test we built a clickeable prototype in a design sprint. Working in collaboration with designers and user researchers I helped develop the prototype using InVision. We then tested this with current community members from superusers to less frequent community visitors. Designs were iterated upon to optimise and improve throughout the sprints.
